Corona Diaries 25 April 2020
After a very broken sleep due to a dog on heat in the neighborhood and having 4 rescue dogs that are fierce protectors of their home, I headed to meet Evolution DIvers as they donated 2 pick up trucks with drivers and petrol to journey to Kerobokan to collect our Tonne of Love rice .
Driving through the ghost town of Amed, the majestic Mt Agung greeted us wearing a cloud dome on his peak . Traffic was light until we reached the outskirts of Denpasar and we were shocked to see how much life appears to carry on as normal there with car showrooms, shoe stores, shops, warungs and chain stores open. There were many Gojek riders around, trucks carrying rocks and sand and the normal guys along Gatot Subroto with shovels in hand hoping to pick up a day's work. The only difference was the abundance of masked faces hiding the famous Bali smile of warmth and welcome.
I felt my usual claustrophobic self in the big smoke and it made me again feel so grateful to have been able to move to my “happy place” a couple of years back now.
6 hours later after a great lunch at a warung in the back of Kerobokan , we unloaded and all went home to collapse for a while.
Work crept in for me, a client discovery call and some estimates and I found it hard to remember some processes after also being affected by this COVID creature and not doing any new quotes for over a week now. Funny how the brain switches gear and your different skill set takes dominance over what is habitual.
Tonight I will take some time out to be me, relax, connect , laugh and try not to kill my dogs as they lose their minds from intruders !
