When despair changes to hope again…

What a difference 48 hours can make! After taking many hours to process the reality of all of this and making a late night post, several people reached out to me both in personal messages and through the Yayasan.

A donor contacted and gave a personal donation of just under $1000 AUD, another donated to the Gofundme $1000 AUD as well as other donations coming to the various platforms

Crisis Kitchen and Tropicana Churros Cafe in the south of Bali reached out and have donated rice,  1 TONNE of rice! That is another 200 care packages covered 

The Mask Society re-contacted and are sending an additional 300 masks- not only this, but May then started contacting others that make masks and asked them for help and is also attempting to get us some media coverage via her contacts. 155 of her masks were distributed along with others we had made locally when we serviced 183 families of the 649.  The team of volunteers is absolutely selfless and incredible with all of us sweating bullets in this humidity, not a complaint to be heard. From this team sharing our posts with their friend and family, they raised 14.5 million in donations in just a couple of days.

The wonderful Dolpo Gustavvo , who does his own Charity of Life in this area with his friends and supporters, gave us the gift of his time and an amazing video of the day, along with the fabulous Coco doing another one and some more amazing photos from Ara , one of the volunteers. 

The volunteer team is mostly made up of Western Dive Masters and management that have all lost their jobs but are still here and loving the community as hard as I do myself. 

To cover 649 families takes:3,245 kilos of rice approximately 33 million IDR7,788 eggs 10,643,600 IDR

649 bottles of cooking oil- 4,867,500 IDR 

1318 soap bars - 4,118,750 IDR

2,596 masks- 12,980,000

Total 65,609,850  IDR or approximately AUD 6584.41 EURO 3889.30 USD 4209.02
